Today’s Gratitude Item: A YouTube video that showed how to open a tin of shoe polish. My ‘one thing’ today was to polish my school shoes. This was bittersweet as dad always polished my shoes (it was one of the many ways he expressed his love) and I cried not because I mind polishing shoes (it’s an easy thing to do) but because I miss him so much. Apparently the ‘missing’ / grieving becomes less intense as time passes. I remain unconvinced.
