Today’s Gratitude Item: “Nailing it” by chance. The principal of our Middle School is retiring tomorrow after 16 years of service. This is an extremely “big deal” and I spent between 100 and 200 hour creating an image that summarised his years of service. I deeply admire the man and the graphic that I created was extremely detailed. One of the first things that went on the image was a silhouette of a helicopter as, when he turned 60, the school got him a ride on a chopper to celebrate and this was quite meaningful for him. I gave him a large copy of the graphic on a memory stick as a small leaving present with instructions not to look at it until after “his” assembly today. At the end of the assembly, he was surprised by another helicopter ride! Happily it was the same type of helicopter as the last time making the graphic that much more special.
