Innocent Kichel

Spent a good part of today making kichel* for Rosh Hashana. This massive job took my mom and I over three hours to complete.

*Kichel is a traditional Jewish “biscuit” that is served with various kinds of herring. To make Kichel, you combine eggs, oil and flour into a dough. This is then rolled out so that it is very thin. The rolled out dough is then cut into small squares, brushed with egg white, sprinkled with sugar and baked in the oven. It is a very time consuming endeavour but is well worth it.

The graphic above is called ‘Innocence’. It has nothing to do with kichel or Rosh Hashana, but I though that it looked cool.
